We proudly present the genius Italian composer, conductor and educator Giancarlo Aquilanti of Stanford University. Maestro Aquilanti’s music has been performed the world over. While grounded in traditional technique and harmonies, this music includes modern and sophisticated interpretations of tonalities, but always in a pleasant and listenable, approachable way. Giancarlo’s profound respect for both listener and player is apparent in every piece.
Aquilanti’s masterpiece, La Povertà, dedicated to Lauren Speeth and Elfenworks, received its world premiere performance at the Stanford Memorial Church at a Stanford event September 6th 2007 celebrating the launch of the Stanford Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality and the launch of their website, built for Stanford by technologists at The Elfenworks Foundation: www.inequality.com. The blu-ray of this Concert will be available on DVD in 2010 – elves have been working on subtitling the content, in five languages.
